When fired at that temperature, it becomes very durable and basically completely waterproof in itself. With a glaze on it, it can be used for food and drink without any problems. For the painting kits, it is instead earthenware objects. They are fired at a slightly lower temperature, do not become completely waterproof in themselves, but everything you paint on is dipped in a transparent glaze, which makes them completely safe to use for edible things.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch3\u003e Can I use air-drying clay for mugs and saucers?\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\n \u003cp\u003eNo, not that it will be food safe, unfortunately.
